When I broke my arm earlier this year, I went into the ER, they took an xray of my shoulder instead of my arm. They said I was fine, put me in a sling and sent me on my way. A few days later, I knew something was wrong so I went to a walkin place and demanded the doc take another xray of my arm. They set me up for an xray with the usual "if somethings wrong we'll call you" deal... Well the person who took the picture told me right there "you better get back to the ER now!" My arm was broken in a few places, spiral fracture up to the elbow which is a touchy place because it may not heal properly!
Either way, I'm finding that self diagnosis is often better than health care in this city at the moment. The followup appointments were no better at the Foothills cast clinic... wait for an hour and the doc checks you out for 3 minutes tops.
