I thought I had read somewhere that his brain was essentially equal to that of an 85-year-old male with Alzheimers
"At the crime scene, police found anabolic steroids prompting many to suspect that "roid rage" had accounted for Benoit's behavior, which his family found out of character for the 40-year-old.

[snip]

The tests, conducted by Julian Bailes of the Sports Legacy Institute, show that Benoit's brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient.

[snip]

They found that Benoit's brain showed an advanced form of dementia that appears on the brain scan as brown clumps or tangles. These brown spots are actually dead brain cells, killed off as a result of head trauma, said Bailes."

As far as the Signature Pharmacy incident is concerned, WWE suspended 10 wrestlers who were identified by the Albany, NY District Attorney's Office during an investigation into the online pharmacy. Randy Orton is not among the ten superstars suspended because he confessed to WWE to his ordering of the drugs online and, as per the WWE Wellness Policy, was suspended in April.

Personally, this is a very crappy time to be a fan of wrestling. Several of the 10 superstars that were suspended were big-name draws. The suspensions have, however, led to some changes regarding the Wellness Policy. Wrestlers will be publicly identified for violations of the Wellness Policy starting November 1st, and WWE has supposedly taken steps to improve drug testing.

It's a damn shame that it took two deaths (Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit), a couple of close calls (Kurt Angle), the threat of Congessional hearings, and a DA's investigation to finally force WWE into gear.

EDIT: as far as a wrestlers union goes, it has been attempted many, many times before, but with WWE being the only show in town, it never gets far. I have some literature and quotes concerning this, which i'll try and find and post later.
