I find this somewhat ironic. This supervisors' boss obviously wasn't doing his job either as he wasn't sure when his employee was gone or not. Instead of doing his work of supervising him, with using the hands-on method, he relies on a print out of data to fire him. If his boss was doing his job in the first place, they wouldn't have gotten to this point.
Electronic Tracking = lazy mans way of supervising, similar to parents letting the TV raise their kids.
