Wasn't there a multi-player on Prime 2?
I still have to finish Prime and then OPEN echoes before I think about getting this game, even though I want to pick it up. I've downloaded all the preview vids off of WiiConnect, and am I ever excited to play this title! I like the phazon corruption concept, and the graphics look decent. I am very happy to hear that the controls feel natural and work well!
Metroid and Super Metroid are also available on the Virtual Console this month! They are the two classics that touched off and elevated this franchise, respectively. I am a huge fan of both games and highly recommend to anyone that hasn't played through them to do so.
With respect to the Prime series, I like how Nintendo has retained the action/puzzle element, and the odd shout out to some old plot line elements (a la Zelda). I am not the biggest FPS fan, but I understand that Nintendo needed something to compete in this area, and I can say that they have done a good enough job combining the genres that I enjoy it enough that I can still play it and have a good time. I think that is a testament to Nintendo's ability to retain the "old fan" and attract the "new fan" as I find that many "new" or still "heavily active" gamers are big into the FPS genre. I still think that the Megaman series could have been a cool FPS/Multiplayer series (especially on the Wii), as compared to Metroid, which I think could still be a little more 'cerebral' i.e. more puzzles, thicker plot, expand on the sci-fi element. Overall, though, I am happy and look forward to trying P3 soon.
