The Metroid Prime series is unlike any other first-person game out there. It has just as much in common with Zelda games than it does with Halo or Halflife (maybe more). The majority of the game is solving puzzles and finding your way around a strange planet as opposing to just having horde after horde of aliens sent for you to slaughter. Co-op multiplayer really doesn't make any sense for an exploration based game.
The turning around thing isn't really a huge deal since you never really get blindsided by enemies (and if you do it's usually by weak, easily disposed of enemies).
To those that are just picking up the game:
- Put the control settings on advanced right off the bat
- Avoid using a guide and enjoy the game for what it is. Pretty much every one of the puzzles seems trivial after you figure it out.

I agree with everything you said here, except I think there is a place for Multiplayer and kind of wish it was included... A few maps for multiplayer with some downloadable ones coming would have been fine by me, i know metroid is alot more about puzzles and environment, but its still a shooter and the option to frag some real people would have been a nice addition. I have not played a lot on line, but Mario Strikers Charged played online quite nicely (although I'm not a big fan of the game) so I know the Wii can do it well.
I guess I'm stuck waiting for a Rainbow 6 or Ghost Recon to be released on the Wii.
