yep. My grandfather's rule was always "park beside a car that's nicer than yours." I've actually been in the car when idiots hammer their door into mine. And few of them notice or care. A friend of mine had door dings all over his car from the moron who parked next to him at his apartment building. The day he moved he backed out, got out of the car and proceeded to leave a huge footprint in the jerk's door. I always wanted to do that.
