If it ever does come to a point where global food production can no longer keep up with production, tobacco and other drug crops should be the first to go, rather than biofuel crops. If a country like China converted all of their tobacco production to grain production, it would go a long way to covering their own grain deficit.

Is it? I always thought the problem was a complete lack of political/economic will to get the food there... not because of delivery issues.
