The computer is decent. The video card is crap. Especially when you hook that up with a 22" monitor.

That's a high resolution monitor. You could maybe get away with low settings in most games and have a decent framerate. Maybe medium settings if you went for a 19" non widescreen 1280X1024 monitor.

And PC5300 ram? 630gb hhd? I wouldn't doubt if the whole system was bottlenecked. Having a Q6600 with 3gb of 5300 and a crappy hhd (if it is junk) doesn't make sense to me.

That computer might work as a good base for you though. Add a geforce 7900 card to it and it would probably be decent for games.
