If your dad was born in the US, and is a US citizen you would be able to get your US citizenship. My Grandfather was american (born in the US) and my mom has dual citizenship even though she hasn't lived a day of her life in the US. I can't get my US citizenship unless my mom lives in the US for a period of time (or so I was told).
