Although I don't think OC is something anyone should try without background knowledge first. I think it would probably be easier for you to forget about OC and go with a C2D/C2Q

Good link worth, I changed a couple of my settings so my computer runs slower with lower voltage [underclocked] when it doesn't need the speed but shifts up when needed.
