Vegas in retrospect compensated us pretty well for two pretty mid defenders who haven't moved them forward, moreso if Rasmus walks this summer (he was always most at home and most valuable in Calgary anyways, I would say). We'll see what the 2026 and 2027 1sts turn out to be.
Kadri's return also looks pretty great considering where he's at age-wise. I wouldn't send that package for 34 year old Kadri with term left. But I think familiarity and pressure from MacKinnon played into it.
Conroy deserves his flowers. Did great.
Could be argued that Weegar should have returned a 1st. But three 2nds can probably be leveraged into a late first at the draft if they really want to.
