Only the Hawks have the same 10 points as us, the other teams have gained on us.
So, over the last 10 games, the Flames have only helped their tank. The last 3 game win streak notwithstanding.
No one, other than the Canucks, are racing to the bottom. At this stage, those 5 teams are chugging somewhat up the standings to some extent. And the Sharks, Kracken and Leafs may soon join the race.

Really you couldn't ask for a better scenario for lower end team. It's looking like a team with 75 points can finish 31st overall this year. So you can be in position to get a high pick but you still get to win some games. Fans going to games at the dome they get to see a decently competitive team on home ice, and they're still one of the bottom 3 teams. I'd be fine to have happen again next year, especially if they can keep getting younger guys into bigger roles.
