I'm with Willis on this one. I think many of us interpreted McDiver's comments the exact same way. Not sure why Spec is trying to deny the intent behind it.

He raved about how well-coached and rehearsed and organized the Tampa Bay Lightning were. Then when he was asked what the Oilers had to do to get to that level he said it was a coaching question and to go ask Knoblauch.

Not saying there was no innuendo, or disputing his quotes. He did not tell the media to confront Knoblauch the way you stated. I was there. It wasn’t like that.

I didn't say confront; I said ask. And yes, it's material that it was in response to a question rather than being unprompted.
But I'm less worried about tone than message. And it's especially notable because it's not the first time an Oilers star has delivered that message.
