I was just thinking the other day how unique and satisfying an experience it is to dislike or otherwise flat out hate a popular and/or well reviewed film.
There's an odd, self-gratifying feeling knowing that something is garbage while the seals clap and bark at the next installment of hot trash they all line up to see. It's like the power of knowing something the majority of people don't and you have all the opportunity in the world to revel in it even for just a little while. It's that sudden realization of "I didn't know I was better than you".
I can see why conspiracy theorists get off on this kind of self-importance and I understand why Sliver seems to delight in gleefully cluster bombing review threads with such vigorous hyperbole.
With that said, Dune suuuuuuuuucks.
