Whactly which assets did they hold onto for too damn long under this tradition? They have traded, for decent to very good returns, Weegar, Andersson, Kadri, Hanifin, Tanev, Lindholm, Toffoli, Markstrom, Mangiapane, Zadorov. All before they were too old to play. They put Giordano and Lucic on the expansion draft.
How good was team Sweden without Backlund? Did their management seem to put together a winning team?
What have the Calgary Flames accomplished with any player since 2004? How far did Gaudreau, or Tkachuk, or Monahan, or Giordano get them? Hell, aside from 2004, what did they do with Iginla, Regher, Kipper, etc? Are they somehow b overrated because of the lack of a cup?
