What's worse nowadays, even compared to a few months ago, is how easily you can do a seemingly legitimate looking deepfake replication using a few tools on some newer video models (I don't consider the CNN depicted ones at top level). I can replicate some extremely real deepfakes using an image of a real place, images of weaponry used, even video or audio.
This is also why folks need to be extremely vigilant in presenting info from dubious social media sources, even if they may pass the eye test. It's no longer possible to easily determine an AI video from real.
