If they draft a stud, or a bust, that's on the scouts, not the trade value of the pick today.
Judge the trade based on the perceived value of a late round pick.

That's how I see it too...
1st round pick in 2028 is worth X
2nd round pick is worth Y
Prospect is worth z
Trade value already known.
Now it's two different departments ... scouting and development.
