my lawyers fees were about 900 and that included 2 days worth of special insurance for overlapping possesion dates...

Talk to your lawyer agaian...there are all sorts of fees involved perhaps he was reffering to CMHC fees or back-fees for pre-paid condo fees or taxes(which you have to pay to the previous owner if they paid it ahead of time).

Maybe he is rolling more than one fee into one? Often lawyers arrange to have previously paid fees settled and just include it in their fees, then pay out the previous owner themselves.
