That's crazy if true. I was always under the impression that the U.S. had such massive stockpiles that they could go on for a long time without having to worry about immediately ramping up production less than a week into a war. This really opens up adversaries to cause a ruckus if they wanted to and puts into question America's ability to fight on a different front without have to go into a complete war time economy.
