He actually started out his tenure very well but as the years passed his affinity for depth forwards and defensemen became costly as he started using draft picks as currency to attain them. It was also strange how he had no problems overpaying UFA's, yet squeezed his own players when it came to contract negotiations. Worst of all, it seems he doesn't learn from his mistakes as he's basically repeated all the same mistakes with the Leafs blowing picks and prospects on depth players while letting Marner (I realize he inherited that issue but he had two years to be proactive) walk for nothing. He's going to leave the Leafs in a situation somewhat similar to the Flames. In shambles.
