I don’t believe any picks at this years lottery draft will change the course of the team next season. Whoever they select regardless of 1st, 5th, etc is not going to impact them that much if at all in year one. They may not even be on the roster depending who’s selected. I would guess Calgary will be looking at another top pick next year at least before their trajectory from the bottom of the league is impacted.
