Obviously now that he is nominated beside his daughter he is pulling out all the stops, trying to get himself eliminated and admitting as much. He came straight out and said "my goal this week is to make people hate me so much there is no way they won't vote me out so that Danielle can stay."

I was referring to his conduct prior to this week's nominations. Because up to that point, despite all his antics, I don't think any of the relationships he had strained were beyond repair. Just look how he made up with Jen.

And no, the rules governing social etiquitte do not apply. The goal is to manipulate everyone around you better than they manipulate you, turning them all against each other so that you will emerge as the last one standing. I'm not sure where you come from, but my life sure as hell isn't like that. Dick understands that aspect of the game better than anyone. He realizes that you can push people around but in the end, they will always choose self-preservation over the moral high ground in this game. So when Jen saw that she had no option to stay alive other than to hitch her star to the Dick/Danielle wagon, she got over it. Kail was about to do the same before she got eliminated.

Like I said, if he wasn't choosing the noble route, sacrificing himself, I think there is no way he gets eliminated this early, he would have managed to continue to build and break alliances as he saw fit from week to week, as he has done up to this point.
