Conroy pulled the trigger 4 hours after it was established a sign and trade wasn’t going to be an opportunity and Conroy had his rental price met by Vegas, a price that is looking better and better by the day, he did remarkably better than the Hanifin trade no doubt.

Kadri and Coleman are different scenarios entirely and both are still Calgary Flames past this season, Conroy is asserting his position again by playing these players, meet my price or pound sand basically, he doesn’t have to trade them right now and I don’t blame Conroy for taking this stance after seemingly being pushed around in past trade deadlines (while also doing quite well considering the position he found himself in)

We’ve seen this movie before, he pushed back when Fitzgerald tried to pressure Conroy at the deadline with Markstrom; Conroy didn’t budge and then got an absurd return from the same GM in the offseason for an over the hill 34 year old goalie. I don’t know what else Conny can do to gain the confidence of the usual crowd that laments his approach almost constantly.

Also using Myers as the example of a player being sat out; well, his price has reportedly been met, the Nucks have approached him to waive and he’s now considering the option, with the price being met there is no reason to play Myers until he comes to his decision. Trochek played yesterday - price hasn’t been met yet, pretty simple.
I think a lot of us have ptsd from the Treliving/Feaster/Sutter years. Watching the team walk valuable assets to market for nothing.

Now that we have a competent GM at the helm, we have hope that he will do the right thing and cash out at the right time. All the MSM “insiders” who were predicting a flurry of deals post freeze whipped people into a frenzy and raised expectations for fans. And we have frayed nerves seeing our trade chips in the lineup at risk of injury which adds to the collective angst.

Everyone wants things done now but begrudgingly we have to accept that conroy has to follow the market. Buyers have to want to buy and it will start to crystallize closer to the deadline.
