i lived with my first billit when i was 16 and have lived with one evey year pretty much up until the end of this season, im 21 now. If your thinking about billiting these are my suggestions
check with the team exactly how much your funded each month and how much can be used for food. Because to be honest, hockey players eat like its there job, between, the gym, the rink and off ice we get pretty hungry, not just your nomal eaters. I have herd horror storries about guys practically starving because there billits never had enough groceries
most hockey players are pretty respectful easy going guys, if you decide to do it, when the kid arives in a freindly manor just lay out some ground rules, basically what you want and what you dont want, do your best to ask these requests as more of a favor rather than a command, if you know what i mean.
also if your thinking about billiting, i assume you like hockey? because the only billit i never liked is the first one i had when i came to play over in england. It was terrible, he hated hockey, and pretty much just billited to get an income. it was a terrible situation where i was informed i had a room in the house, but that was all.
i would say out of all the guys ive played with 9/10 would say they loved there billits, most of these kids are away from home and will respect you as there own parents
If your thinking about billiting either for the calgary canucks, or calgary royals (who didnt even take kids from outside calgary so they didnt have billits back in my day) i wouldnt reccomend it, both teams have the lowest budgets in the ajhl and the teams are run as a joke
