Some events (Nordic and sledding) Canada is just a non-factor. I don't know if it's from a lack of funding, but we have a ton of ground to make up there. We're great on the ice and in X-games events. We need to gain ground on those classical events. It seems like many athletes from other countries train in Canada, so why aren't we as competitive with our resources?

Any particular reason why Canada has a lot of success in one group of disciplines and completely almost no presence in the others. For example, it seems Canada has always been strong in speed skating. Is it because the funding is just there for that sport or we have the proper facilities for training and nothing for the others?
