It is just generally that this award typically goes to a more senior player. A freshman winning has only happened 4 times. Kariya in 93, Eichel 15, Fantilli 23, and Celebrini in 24.
I do wonder if that old school thought process is starting to go away considering you went 20 years before Eichel and then had back to back freshman.
For the record Celebrini had 64 in 38 games, Fantilli had 65 in 36, Eichel 71 points in 40 games.
So 51 in 32 games is on pace to be right there.
I do agree with you that the 8 points should be sufficient. Eichel was 10 points up in his year. Fantilli only 5 points. Celebrini was actually 3rd (Will Smith had 71 points, Cutter Gautheir 65).
