And with one rink, the games aren’t played concurrently as is sometimes the case. With the Canada game finishing before the USA game starts, Canada has no choice but to maximize goal differential - no scoreboard watching-induced gas off the pedal to be had.
Also, good chance we see the USA pull their goalie quite early and despite holding a substantial lead in their game.
