I’m not commenting on what is or isn’t true at this point in terms of who the shooter was, but these articles are using pictures of distinctly different people and pretending they are the same person. That’s going to ruin the life of whoever’s picture is not the actual shooter.

Sounds like some Xitter "reporter" posted the wrong person, then "corrected" it, then tried to recall all the wrong ones by contacting whoever was re-xitting it. Might explain the multiple pictures, and also why if you are gonna "break news" you make sure you have it right. I'm sure Xitter reporters will review their standards.
