My friend taught in Tumbler Ridge in the 90s before it became a ghost town. Very remote community.
Tumbler Ridge, BC, is not a ghost town itself but is a 1980s-era town that experienced a "ghost town" scenario when its main employer, the Quintette coal mine, closed in 2000. The town has since reinvented itself as a hub for tourism, hiking, and UNESCO-designated fossils, avoiding becoming a true abandoned ghost town.
