Ugh, yes, for anyone who's actually - I don't know - grown up with trans friends and walked next to them through their transition, it was never the case. Personally, I have had two close friends go through the process in Alberta, one he started when he was 15, and the other as an adult after our college years. For both it was the same, and it takes a long while. And being trans doesn't mean having surgery either, as another close friend of mine who moved to Montreal decided with her partner and doctor.

Here's the thing - we shouldn't be talking about anyone's surgery unless they bring it up. It should be between them and their doctor, not them, their doctor, and their MLA or "concerned citizen just asking questions"

These wackos think any kid who brings up being trans gets put on the surgery list. It's just not the case and that's common across regions, unless there is a valid immediate medical necessity.

So that makes 3 close friends for whom I've had a front row seat to their transition, who brought me in because of trust and love. For the rest of y'all, how many people have you had that experience? If the answer is zero, sit this one out.
