Desnoyers is worth that to the Flames. The question is really whether or not a package that big gets the Mammoth to consider it. Logically it works for both teams: Flames get a prospect they need and Mammoth get an injection of skill in key positions, playoff experience, and GAF that can help them through multiple playoff runs.
The second deal is significantly worse. Beaudoin is interesting but I doubt he becomes a top line C, which means the Flames are getting more of the same level of assets that they already have. The additional late 1st round pick probably gets another middle 6 forward, which again generates more of the same without addressing the big need.
Of course, the biggest wrench in the idea is Kadri. Chances are good that he wouldn't want to go to Utah and then we are back to square 1.
