Not much comment on the legal situation without more information.

It sounds like there is partial video of the fight, and I would guess video of the proceeding incident in the bar, or at least some pretty high quality witness statements from the staff. So I think it's likely enough that a lot of facts will emerge in the next 5 months that will reveal a lot of information before the draft.

On it's face i do think this increases the odds that McKenna gets drafted by the Flames a little bit.

Lottery dependent, with the Flames seem likely to draft between 1 and 4, with 3 being the most likely outcome at this point. With McKenna being moderately forward about the idea of playing for his childhood team being appealing, and possible legally issues lingering, it could be enough for the top 1-3 teams to look at one of the other few top rated guys, I don't think it will have a big effect, but assuming other view Stenberg, Verhoeff or even Reid in the same range as McKenna this is 2 x's against him while the Flames only have the one, maybe Vancouver / St Louis.... are 10% less likely to pick McKenna over the other guys now, and Calgary is only 5% less likely, pending a lot more information about the incident.
