No, but the club can say: You will sit and not play until your injury is healed. This is our policy. It protects us and you long term and preserves the value you bring to our club. It also preserves your chance of having a longer and more successful career: please see Mark Stone as an example.
IMO responsible clubs do this already. Some of you have picked on it as being cap circumvention.
