Some fascinating things in that story that played out in real time on this board:
- Los Angeles had a deal in place ("a great offer") to trade for him in the summer if he would extend with them. He gave Conroy a list of seven teams he would but apparently not LA.
- He was close to making it work with a couple of other teams leading up to and just after the draft last year, but couldn't figure an extension out.
- Boston had a deal done, to the point of a few NTC-clause details. Then ghosted him for three days. That's weird as was it a negotiating ploy or were they having second thoughts with the standings, Lohrei's play or something else?
- Andersson got rightfully pissed with all of the emotions playing out saying bye multiple times to his teammates and fans. No more extension talks.
- Vegas offer was strong enough without an extension and Conroy pulled the trigger.
