To be fair, there's only been a few guys who've had it done. A lot of the guys who have had it done, did it when they were near the end of their careers anyways. For many, it was probably the 6-12 months of not being able to train, in combination with age, that was probably worse for their careers than the actual surgery.
For these older guys, they are getting an insurance payout, so that's probably referable than trying to work their way back into game shape in their mid and late 30s.
