So they've been solid defensively. Ceci, Dumouling, and Edmundson area also all those type of dmen that have bad advanced stats, aren't great regular season dmen, but tend to be more effective in the playoffs.
Add Kadri and Panarin to add more offensive pop and you might have a shot.

They lost to the Oilers 3 years in a row and all 3 years they were the better team 5 on 5 and the series were close in the 1st 2 years.
They couldn't stop the Oilers PP, and they couldn't buy a goal on the PP. Panarin is a great fit for this team.
There is no reason to think this team adding Panarin will just hurt someone else already producing on this team. It will be a straight gain.
