Between Kempe, Fiala, Byfield and Panarin if they could add one more top 6er their forward corps is decent enough to fence with Edmonton and Vegas next year imo, not better than them but still in the mix and could go well with some breaks. Perry, Kuzmenko and Laferriere behind them too so some secondary scoring. And I think they have decent goalies.

I just don't ever see that d corps being good enough to make an extended run. Doughty for me is nowhere near the player he used to be at this stage in his career and after him there isn't a lot there... it's not San Jose D bad but it's not great either.

I could see them overpaying massively for Tuch but they definitely need a center too
I think they get a center this year. It's not the best-looking team on paper long term, but Panarin is still a legit 90-to-100-point guy. They just added him for free. The Kings are a decent team, and they just added their best player.

With the RS, they could ditch Kuzmenko in a deal to add a center. Kopitar would be perfect in the 3rd line role in the playoffs. They could be as good as any team in the pacific IMO. Their PP has been very bad and they just added Panarin. They play hard, just do not have talent.
