While Catherine's official cause of death has yet to be confirmed, it's been revealed that the actress suffered from Situs Inversus throughout her life.

The congenital condition sees major organs in the chest and abdomen placed on the opposite side of where they would typically be located.

It's an inherited condition that affects around 1 in 10,000 people worldwide and is more common in males.

It seems Catherine's diagnosis came to light during a routine diagnosis, but she was reluctant to delve into the details of her Situs Inversus.

She previously explained in an interview that she needed to get a test for tuberculosis when her son was in nursery school, including a chest X-ray, which confirmed her diagnosis.

Catherine said at the time: 'I'm a freak! I love Western medicine, I just don't want to be a part of it.

'I don't even know the name because I don't want to know the name. Something cardi- inversa and then dexter-cardia and something-inversa.

'People are going to think I'm so ignorant not to know this, but I kind of don't want to know before that.'
