Agree Seabrook was great in his prime, but never elite. But both Toews and Hossa were elite two-way forwards in their prime. Toews was the #1 center and captain for 3 stanley cups, won a Con Smyth & a Selke. Hossa is already in the Hall of Fame and was inducted before he even officially retired, and JT will also be an easy hall of famer, when he retires. Seem elite to me.

I reserve elite for the very tip top of the league.
I don't think HOF means elite unfortunately. Clark Gillies is in it. Glenn Anderson is in it. Are Brendan Shanahan and Doug Gilmour really elite in your opinion?
Jacques Lemaire was the 1C for 5 cups - not elite. Conn Smythe winners are also often not the elite guys but rather guys who catch fire at the right time - - Bennett, Marchessault, ROR, Justin Williams, Tim Thomas, Brad Richards.
