I said 7. Like most of the moves they've made, wish they had made one or two more by now, one or two minor flubs.

Last year was weird – basically put the whole operation on pause to give the roster a chance to make the playoffs. I actually think that was a good move for Wolf and the other young players, because it gave them a taste of playing meaningful games in March and April. Jockeying with St. Louis for that wild-card spot was the closest you can get to playoff hockey without actually making it.

I probably move up to 8 if Coleman is traded for a decent return by the deadline and Kadri by the draft. (That particular combination would allow the Flames to retain salary on both trades, which they can't do otherwise.)

Incidentally, I'm a big fan of Whitecloud, but I'd be an even bigger fan of another 1st-round pick if they can get one for him.
