This is really hard to quantify, and I would probably vote differently at the beginning of the season vs. after last year's draft vs. after this upcoming off-season. Overall, I think I would rate the rebuild to date somewhere between a 5.5 and a 7.

Other than the baffling communication earlier this season, there haven't been any glaring blunders such as badly losing a trade or whiffing on one of the higher draft picks. My view is that the front office has done well in adding promising young talent to the organization both through its trading and drafting.

Sometimes I feel like those positives should be discounted due to the pacing of the rebuild -- the trade market is not something any team can control, but I still have to wonder why an Andersson deal materialized this month vs. at the last draft or leading into last seasons trade deadline. If how long it took to deal Andersson is indicative of how long it may take to move other vets, I feel like the process is dragging a bit too much.

So yeah -- hard to nail down, but overall my view is it's in more of a positive direction than not. Obviously some very big moments coming up this off-season and next season before we move into the new arena.
