I have been to Rome Venice and Naples and loved Naples the most of the three because it's a crazy ramshackle ####hole, Rome is a modern city with ruins in it, Venice is basically a huge museum, everything is old and cool but it exists solely for the tourists
Naples though is just a crazy ramshackle falling down ruin of a city that people still live in, it's utterly nuts, traffic laws are non existent, red lights merely a suggestion, away from the waterfront up the hill into the old city the roads are at best 10 feet wide so scooters are main form of travel, beaten up battered Vespas that a whole family will ride on all at once, I saw mum dad grandma and pre teen son with groceries riding through town one day, Grannies on the back holding the shopping, mums in the middle, dads on the drivers seat having a smoke while the 10 year old is standing on the running board driving the thing at 40 or so.
Naples is utterly insane and wonderful
