It’s $12-$15MM more than he would’ve ideally in his mind like to have gotten on a long term deal, maybe closer to $17 or $18M.
Sign a 6 year $160MM deal next year and takes a cut and it’s basically working out to a 7 year $202MM deal which he would’ve taken this year without anyone offering.
Again, after one season there would be all the excuses why he stepped back as a player and he wouldn’t have any issue in getting suitors. If he stinks 2 years in a row maybe he doesn’t get that money.
