Bichette panicked when asked at his intro presser when the question about his opt outs that could make this a one year deal.
His agent had to step in to answer.

I firmly believe there’s a better than not chance he plays there for one year and gets out. Unless he gets hurt and then he takes the Mets money for a second year.
He’s a private guy, and NY press will be a lot less forgiving than the Toronto press for privacy, nevermind if he or the team struggles.
He’s playing out of position etc etc.
Like Tucker, he couldn’t say no to the cash that no one was expecting to come his way.
