I've had multiple knee surgeries, essentially knee injuries killed my football playing dream.
I never got back to normal, and when I stepped back on the field even after rehabbing and being assured that I was good, I never did feel good, I don't think I was mentally strong enough to get passed it, and I know I cringed internally every time a hit came back on my injured side, and I always took like a half beat on the turf waiting for the pain to come.
Its got to be tougher for a highlevel hockey player, you have to have absolute confidence in your body.
