when my gf, went to south america last year she made me a mixed cd as well as a scrapbook of things we had done together. It was just around christmas time so she gave me that along with a teddy bear with her perfume on it...It's a mystery of human chemistry and I don't understand it, some people, as far as their senses are concerned, just feel like home.

I stole this last bit from High Fidelity. I just felt it could explain the whole thing with the smell better.

While it's hard at first, just keep doing your own thing. Work, spend time with friends and family, go to the movies...keep yourself occupied and you'll see that the time will fly by faster than you think.
