It is also to be determined how good Conroy’s picks this year and the next two years are. They will likely be top 5 picks and could expedite it. But most rebuilding teams seem to take 7-9 years to reach a point where they are good (Montreal and San Jose being the only real exceptions I can think of).

Agree again with a lot of your post.
It was spoken at length years ago that proper rebuilds require self reflection and cutting quick. So a point of frustration for many that we didn't do that, which is frustrating from two perspectives in that we wasted development time and we didn't target a strong 2023 draft.
As for picking Hart candidates, fully agree. We'll likely need one to pull out of our current decent. Gotta have a shot at it though by being in the top 10 draft picks.
Anyway I look forward to the conversation shifting from whether we're in a rebuild to assessing the quality and fit of our young assets.
