Returning Players: Former Survivor contestants from across all eras will return to compete in celebration of the fiftieth season.
Pre-Filming Cast Reveal: Due to the high-profile nature of the season and the increased risk of cast leaks, CBS announced the cast shortly before filming began, nearly a year prior to the season's premiere, rather than following the usual practice of revealing the cast only weeks or months before airing. However, while two players from Survivor 49 were confirmed to be participating, their identities were not officially disclosed until that season finished airing in order to avoid spoiling their placements/impact on the season.
Expanded Cast: The season will feature 24 castaways, the largest cast in the show's history.
Tribe Division: The 24 castaways will be divided into three tribes of eight.
Fan Vote: Key elements of the season were determined through a public vote which took place before the season was filmed.
Guest Appearances: Social media personality MrBeast, musicians Billie Eilish and Zac Brown, and comedian Jimmy Fallon will appear during the season.
