When I buy gifts for family and loved ones I focus on what will give that person some pleasure and enjoyment. Some years I might spend a lot and other years not much. Cost is never a factor as i don't believe in putting a "dollar value" on someone I care about.

Absolutely, and i'm the same way. $600 on a weekend isn't necessary to spend time alone with that special someone. It can be done with popcorn and a bottle of wine for much less.
