Sometimes the gift fits the moment to a tee. Should that perfect gift that fits the moment be tossed aside because, as you say, it costs too much money?
When I buy gifts for family and loved ones I focus on what will give that person some pleasure and enjoyment. Some years I might spend a lot and other years not much. Cost is never a factor as i don't believe in putting a "dollar value" on someone I care about.
